Eu achava que fossem a mesma coisa. Mas tem esse trecho: Ver SHFM (5°ed), Cap. 09, pág. 228 - “There are some significant differences between berthing a ship at a mooring and docking her, and the master must keep this in mind as the mooring master is bringing the ship into the mooring.”
Afinal, o que diferencia "berthing" de "docking"?

“Berthing” é a atracação num cais.
“Docking” é a entrada num dársena.
“Docking” é a entrada num dársena.
